This Week's AppSumo Lineup

Welcome to the Taco Truck Roundup for February 5th, 2024. This week AppSumo dropped six brand-new lifetime deals that cover a surprisingly wide range of business needs — from appointment scheduling and HR engagement all the way to AI-powered landing pages and business strategy planning.

Every tool in this batch starts at either $49 or $59 as a one-time payment, which is the typical AppSumo sweet spot. I've tested each one and given them a score, so let's walk through what's worth your money and what still needs some work.

Timetics – Appointment Scheduling with Seating Plans

Timetics is a SaaS appointment scheduling tool that handles online and offline meetings, events, and even ticketed in-person gatherings. Lifetime deals start at $59, and the tool supports one-to-one meetings, one-to-many sessions, and — here's the standout — one-to-many meetings with a seating plan. That last option requires Tier 2, which is honestly the sweet spot for this deal.

Setting up a meeting is straightforward. You give it a name, pick a location type (Google Meet, Zoom, phone, or in-person), set the duration, and assign a host. In-person events can be ticketed with QR codes, which is a genuinely unique feature for a tool at this price point. The booking interface itself is clean and intuitive, and every plan includes white labeling with your own colors and logo — no upgrade needed for that.

Each AppSumo plan comes with at least 10 staff members and unlimited meetings. Staff can connect their own Google calendars and set their own availability, and attendees get the option to save bookings to Google, Apple, or Outlook calendars right after scheduling. Worth noting: this is the SaaS version of Timetics, not the WordPress plugin it originally launched as. You do not need WordPress to use this deal.

I did hit a few small bugs during testing — an SVG logo upload that was advertised as supported but didn't actually work, for instance. Timetics also currently only syncs with Google Calendar for staff, which is a limitation if your team uses Outlook or something else. The tool has an AI roadmap (the domain is timetics.ai, after all), with plans to recommend meetings based on booking history. Final score: **7.9 out of 10**.

VirtlX – 360-Degree Employee Engagement Platform

VirtlX is a 360-degree engagement platform aimed at helping business owners gauge whether employees are happy, engaged, and properly trained. It starts at $59 on AppSumo, though you'll want Tier 2 if you have more than one employee since it bumps you up to 10 user seats with all the same features.

The heart of VirtlX is surveys and courses. Survey types cover peer reviews, employee satisfaction, engagement and well-being assessments, and more. The platform even extends beyond your internal team — you can survey customers to gather net promoter scores, brand loyalty data, and conduct market research. The online course functionality is geared toward employee training rather than selling courses externally, and there's deep reporting to identify which team members might benefit from additional study or support.

Honestly, VirtlX is a very different kind of tool than what you typically find on AppSumo. It's aimed at larger businesses with more traditional HR needs, not your typical startup or solo founder. From a UI perspective, I found it pretty overwhelming — bright colors, unusual animations, and menus that didn't always fit properly on a laptop screen. The workflow for adding courses and surveys felt like menu after menu after menu.

If you work in HR and this type of platform is something your company genuinely needs, you'll probably recognize the value immediately. But for most AppSumo shoppers, the UI issues and the niche audience make this a tougher sell. Score: **5.7 out of 10**.

Parma – A Minimalist CRM for People Who Hate CRMs

Parma is a minimalistic CRM built around one simple idea: help you remember who people are, what they care about, and when you last connected with them. At $59 on AppSumo, you get a single user with 2,500 relationships. Tier 2 bumps that to 5 users and 10,000 relationships, while Tier 3 gives you 25 users and unlimited relationships.

The workflow is refreshingly simple. You create contact groups — clients, customers, friends, whatever categories make sense — then add contacts and assign them to those groups. Each contact gets a description, profile photo, and standard contact info. There's a nice touch where adding an email address gives you a quick button to fire off a new message in your default mail app. The note-based interface is the real core of Parma: after any interaction with a contact, you leave a summary note, and those notes build up a history of your relationship over time.

Parma also has reminders and a custom lifecycle feature, so you can track where a contact sits in your pipeline (prospect, active client, etc.) and move them through stages as things progress. My favorite feature is the "stay in touch" setting — you define how often you want to connect with someone, and Parma nudges you if you've gone too long without reaching out. It works just as well for personal relationships as it does for business.

The downside is that almost nothing in Parma is automated right now. It's essentially a second brain for your relationships, but you're doing all the manual work yourself. The domain is parma.ai, so AI features are presumably on the roadmap, and email integration is listed as coming soon. For now, though, it's intentionally simple — they joke about having 99% fewer features than most CRMs. Score: **8.1 out of 10**.

Whelm – All-in-One Business Tool for Creative Freelancers

Whelm is built specifically for creative freelancers — video editors, designers, photographers, audio professionals — who want to manage their entire business from one place. The lifetime deal starts at $59, but I'd recommend going higher if you like what you see, and here's why.

The workflow starts with adding clients and creating projects. From there, Whelm has a built-in library of contracts that are genuinely easy to customize. Need a music video contract? There's a template. Fill out the specifics of your deal, hit update, and the contract populates with all the right terms. You can email it to your client for a signature and then move straight into invoicing — all within the same tool.

Here's the critical detail about AppSumo tiers: Whelm charges a recurring percentage fee on top of Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. On Tier 1, that's an extra 1%. On Tier 3, it drops to 0%. If you do even $10,000 in business, the Tier 3 upgrade pays for itself through that 1% savings. After that, everything you earn is money you're not giving to Whelm.

The real star feature is media review. You upload files — video, audio, images, documents — to a project, share a link with your client, and they can review the content, draw markup directly on screen, leave comments, and approve or request changes. New versions can be uploaded to the same link for additional revision rounds, and when everything's approved, you deliver the final file right through the platform. I did hit some bugs in Safari (switching to a Chromium browser fixed them) and the video player had a volume slider issue, but nothing deal-breaking. Score: **7.3 out of 10**.

Yep.so – AI Landing Pages for Idea Validation

Yep.so is an AI-powered landing page builder designed to help you validate business ideas fast. Give it a project name, enter a brief prompt, and it generates a complete landing page — copy, layout, and even generative art images. Starting at just $49 on AppSumo, it's one of the more immediately impressive tools in this week's batch.

The quality of the AI-generated output surprised me, especially given how short the prompt can be. The generated images aren't going to win any awards, but they make the page feel alive and are easy to swap out for your own photos. All the copy lands in the right places automatically. There are smart little touches too — wrap a word in brackets in your headline and it gets a gradient accent on the live page. You can add social media links, alternative CTAs, and contact forms in literally seconds.

Yep.so also includes built-in analytics so you can track conversion rates without involving any third-party tools. There's even a beta feature in testing that lets you collect donations via Stripe, keeping things lean for early idea validation. Custom domains are supported on all plans. For $49 you get 2 domains and 10 pages, but $99 gets you 15 domains and 40 pages — that Tier 2 is really the sweet spot for most people.

If you're a web development pro who needs pixel-perfect control, this isn't your tool. But for quickly testing whether an idea has legs before building the real thing, Yep.so is excellent. I'd love to see a dark mode option, the ability to export to vanilla HTML/CSS, and support for longer prompts where you could supply your own copy. Score: **8.1 out of 10**.

Empiraa – Business Strategy and Goal Achievement Tool

Empiraa is the highest-scoring tool of the week and genuinely one of the more unique products I've seen on AppSumo. It helps your business create a strategy and then actually achieve your goals — not just write them down and forget about them. It's $49 on AppSumo right now.

The setup process walks you through creating a vision statement (with AI assistance if you need it), selecting core values from a curated list, and then defining three to five goals that will move the needle over the next year. From there, you add your company teams and assign employees to them with designated roles. Once that foundation is built, you create objectives — smaller, actionable blocks that ladder up to your bigger goals.

What makes Empiraa special is that it keeps you accountable. Let's be honest: most of us set business goals in January and lose track of them by February. Empiraa is designed to prevent exactly that. The setup wizard makes the whole process feel manageable rather than overwhelming, and there are training videos and tutorials throughout so you never feel lost.

I did hit one bug where my first goal wouldn't save — switching the goal type and switching it back fixed it. That aside, the experience was smooth and thoughtful. It takes a certain type of business owner to really commit to this level of goal organization, but if that's you, Empiraa delivers. It's the right balance of strategic thinking and practical productivity without going too far into the weeds. Score: **8.3 out of 10** — the highest of the week.
