I Don't Understand Why Anyone Needs a Team of AI Agents
Everyone wants a company of AI agents. I run one Hermes agent with a pile of sessions, and I still do not see why a solo user would want the org chart.
Grok Bot and Hermes Agent are everywhere right now. So is the screenshot of a 12-bot company, complete with standups, job titles, and a Chief of Staff whose only job is to rephrase your request for six other bots.
I still don't get it.
If you are one person, and you are fine with one mind knowing your finances and your health, you do not need a Finance Bot and a Health Bot. You can talk to one AI agent. It can recall what you already told it. You do not have to switch personalities to keep the conversation going.
That is the whole decision for most people. One agent, a new session for each job, and you stay in the middle.
What I actually run
I run Hermes Agent all day. I can open a pile of concurrent sessions with the same agent. They can be working on different things at the same time. I do not have to think about which personality I am choosing.
I tried extra profiles. Different lanes, different "bots," extra things to babysit. I folded them back onto one agent, because I was still the person deciding what went where. Every extra bot was another place to hunt for context, another place credentials could drift, and another personality I did not want to pick.
If a different human is the user, that is a different story. An agent for someone else in the house is not you splitting yourself into departments.
I wrote about keeping Hermes running when the laptop sleeps because always-on is a real problem. A fake company of bots is not the fix for that.
